I read somewhere that a Black Forest cake should not be too sweet. It is meant for adults with deep rich flavors and alcohol. Well I decided to skip the booze to make it kid friendly but I didn’t want to make it sweet. So, I followed the original recipe which does not ask for any icing sugar while making the whipped cream which simply means that the cream will have its milky sweetness and not the overpowering sweetness of sugar.
Ingredients for the whipped cream:
- Heavy Whipping Cream – 3.5 cups

- We wont be using any sugar or vanilla extract to whip cream for this cake.
- We need to whip the cream to ‘The soft tip stage’.
- Then divide the cream in half, setting aside one half for the sides and top of the cake.
