Presenting air fried okra. Bhindi/ Lady Finger/ Okra tastes amazing when deep fried but it absorbs a lot of oil in that process. I always use my air fryer to fry bhindi. Season with just a little bit of salt, turmeric powder and oil and air fry till crispy.
You can pretty much use any spices you like. Pair this version with rice and dal and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- Okra (Lady finger/ Bhindi): 1 small bag (20 Okras), do not use the pre-chopped frozen bags
- Salt – to taste (about ½ teaspoon)
- Turmeric Powder – about ½ teaspoon
- Canola Oil – 1-2 tablespoons
Directions:
- Wash the Okra and let the water drain out completely. Spread them on a kitchen towel and pat them dry.
- Remove the heads and tails of Okras.
- Now cut the Okra into medium pieces. Also, keep an eye out for worms, they are not very common but better to be safe.
- Take a big bowl and transfer the Okra in it.
- Season with Salt, Turmeric powder and Oil.
- Start with a clean air fryer basket, preheat the air fryer at 400 F.
- Transfer the seasoned Okra in the fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, open and shake the basket lightly when it prompts you to turn the food.
- Once the color is reddish brown and the Okra looks crisp, it’s ready.
- Serve immediately with hot steamed rice and dal.
- Enjoy.
