Today’s travel section is going to take you to a land of baked goods - Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafter, Chicago.
After visiting the Alliance Patisserie, I really wanted to explore another place with great ratings. Hendrickx has very good ratings but if you are staying in downtown it can turn into a long walk. We went there on a weekend so obviously the place was jam packed. Everyone seemed to know what they wanted which can only happen if the place is well known to the locals. We quickly ordered a couple of things for a take-out. By that time, I was feeling everyone’s eyes on me. Let’s see what all I got:
Please check their website for nice photos. I clicked this in a hurry because both Debarshi and I were super hungry. They have varieties of:
- Croissants (Belgian $3.50, Cherries $3.95, Cherry Chocolate $4.10 and Chocolate $3.75 etc).
- Breads (Belgian Country Bread, Breughel, Belgian Brioche, Challah etc).
- Travel Cakes & Muffins (Belgian chocolate muffin $3.25, Raspberry cake $8.95, Almond muffin $3.50, Cranberry Orange cake $12.50 etc.)
- Varieties of Salads (with Country or Breughel or Gluten Free breads)
- Sandwiches
- Soups
If you are in Chicago, please go and visit this bakery. The place may be crowded so plan accordingly.
Windy city is full of great places to eat. Why not read the reviews first:
