Apple Mango Kiwi Banana Puree with a dash of Vanilla Extract

If you have ever had an apple, mango, kiwi, banana smoothie you know the deliciousness I am talking about. It makes a perfect breakfast or afternoon snack and today we are going to share this amazing recipe with our babies!

This tasty puree gets ready in just 5 minutes. It is filling, creamy and high in nutrients. When they grow up a bit, you can use the same recipe to make them yummy smoothies. You can use fresh or frozen fruits for making the puree. I love using frozen mango chunks because they save so much time and money. You can get a big pack of organic frozen mangoes from Costco and I just love adding mangoes in whatever recipe I can. Kiwis are a little on the expensive side but because of their health benefits I use them for this recipe. The banana adds a creamy texture to the smoothie and also cuts off any tartness of the kiwi and mangoes. You can also add a tablespoon or two of yogurt in it if you want to increase the protein content in it. Try to consume the smoothie/ puree within a couple of hours.

And yes the Vanilla Extract. It adds a wonderful aroma to the smoothie. If your baby is below one year of age, you may want to skip it (also skip if you are preparing this on a regular basis). However, for toddlers a little bit of extract should be ok. I strongly advise not to exceed the amount because it may cause irritation.

Ingredients:
  • Apple – ½, seeded, chopped in medium cubes
  • Mango – 1 cup (fresh or frozen)
  • Kiwi – 1, washed, ends cut, peeled
  • Banana – ½, ripe, peeled, cut in big pieces
  • Vanilla Extract – 2-3 drops

Directions:
  • Transfer everything in the blender cup (Nutri bullet cup).
  • Blend to make a smooth puree.
  • Serve and let your baby enjoy the goodness!
  • Prepare fresh and consume within 1 day.
