Plum Cherry Mango Puree

Today we are going to talk about baby proofing because that is what we have been doing now. With baby Prisha getting more mobile and faster, she keeps opening all the drawers. She would take out the kitchen spatulas and bowls or bathroom essentials and climb in the drawers (lol). She is taller now so she can grab the stuff we keep in the upper drawers as well. So we got some magnetic locks. They are easy to install and can be opened easily with the magnetic key (that comes with it). Amazon has a big selection of such locks.

We have also done a lot of other baby proofing like covering up all the outlet covers, fireplace and stairs (both top and bottom). Babies are quite creative even at this age. You close one drawer; they will find another. You close one entrance; they will find something else. It’s a whole new world for them, full of wonderful things and they want to explore everything!

I enjoy playing with baby Prisha so much that today I totally forgot to make her a snack! I was going to open a readymade puree pouch for her (I always keep some at home for times like these) when I realized, I can whip up something delicious and quick. Mamas try this yummy puree for your baby. If you are hungry, add some avocado and milk and make yourself a smoothie with it. I did that!

Ingredients:
  • Dried Plums – 4-5
  • Cherry – 1 cup (fresh or frozen)
  • Mango – 1 cup (fresh or frozen)

Directions:
  • Dip the Dried Plums in ½ cup of water, cover and keep in the fridge overnight. If in a hurry, heat a cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes, then dip the dried plums in it for 15 minutes.
  • Take a microwave safe bowl and transfer the Dried Plums, Cherries and Mango pieces in it. Cook for 2-3 minutes to thaw/ soften them. You can also blend straight away but I find cooking makes them creamier.
  • Allow them to cool down then transfer to blender cup (Nutri Bullet cup). If the cherries are not seeded, mash them with your fingers and throw out the seeds (I do this step with frozen cherries as well to make sure there aren’t any seeds).
  • Blend until smooth, add a tablespoon of water (of the fruits) till it is smooth enough for your baby.
  • Serve and let them enjoy the goodness!
  • This puree can be kept in the fridge for 1-2 days.
