Pear Banana Oatmeal

Both Debarshi and I love starting our day with a bowl of oatmeal. There is something warm and comforting about it. We love to make our oats with whole milk and a combination of dried, fresh and frozen fruits. Sounds exciting right? Below are some options we usually rotate:

Dried Fruits – raisins, pecans/ almonds, apricots/ plums/ figs/ dates

Fresh Fruits – banana, apple/ pear/ peach

Frozen Fruits – strawberry/ blueberry/ raspberry/ mango

I was very excited that baby Prisha can finally drink regular (Cow’s) milk, because this meant she can too have and enjoy oatmeal. I mean no pressure on her, if she doesn’t like oats she will have something else. But guess what? She absolutely loves oats. And with that we have officially become an oatmeal family!

So what did we all have today? A bowl of old fashioned oats with fresh chopped Pear and Banana. We added some chopped pecans in ours as well. I pureed baby Prisha’s breakfast.

Ingredients:
  • Oats – 1 tablespoon
  • Whole Milk – ¼ cup (or as required)
  • Pear – ½ cup, fresh or frozen
  • Banana – ½ peeled

Directions:
  • Take a microwave safe bowl and add the Oats and Milk in it.
  • Cook for 1 minute, stir then cook for another minute. Add more milk if required.
  • Allow it to cool down completely.
  • Transfer to the blender cup (Nutri bullet cup) with the Pear and Banana.
  • Blend until smooth, adding a tablespoon of Milk till it is smooth enough for your baby.
  • Serve and let them enjoy the goodness!
  • Consume the leftover the same day.
