Sweet Banana – Banana Avocado Pineapple Puree with Yogurt and Banana Golden Beet Mango Puree

Banana Avocado Pineapple Puree with Yogurt

These days I have been taking inspiration from everywhere! Pre-made organic purees, blogs, other mommies. If you have a tried and tested recipe let me know and it will be my next experiment. Of course, all these purees are first tasted by me and if I approve only then I serve them to baby Prisha. This Banana Avocado Pineapple Puree is creamy and smooth and perfect to introduce to babies. While the bananas are sweet and pineapple tangy, the bland flavor of the avocados brings both of them together. Plus, this puree is absolutely yummy in a smoothie. Word to the wise, do finish that smoothie fast otherwise depending on how tangy the pineapple is, the milk may curdle. When serving to your baby, you may mix a teaspoon of yogurt in it right before serving it.

The best part about this puree, you can prepare it while your baby is playing or chewing on things, wondering what my mommy is going to serve me today? (lol). Prisha loves crawling around the family room and living room area while I am working in the kitchen. She comes, takes a look at me, gives me a big smile, then goes again.

The Banana Golden Beet and Mango puree is creamy, thick and fluffy. I have used golden beets here so as not to have a scare later on. This puree is sweet from the bananas, slightly tang from the mangoes and has an earthy flavor from the beets. I have used frozen mangoes and fresh beets for this. I have also cooked the beets till they were soft. I know you can eat beets raw as well but I really don’t like taking that chance with homemade baby foods. You can either microwave or boil the beets in a pot. If you want to try this puree in a smoothie, add some yogurt, honey and rose water in it and voila!

I have used organic fruits and vegetables in both the purees. Especially when it comes to bananas, always make sure to buy organic ones only because the non-organic ones are sprayed with synthetic fertilizers and other harmful chemicals and we don’t want that in our baby foods. Price wise it doesn’t make much difference. Also make sure to use only ripe bananas when making baby foods, as unripe bananas are not suitable for your baby’s digestion.

Both these purees have been loved and approved by baby Prisha. Hope your baby likes them too!
